Matt always wanting to be a vet, and since qualifying in 1987, has worked in many fields with all animals under the sun from horses to guinea pigs, cows to Tarantulas.
However, he always had a love of the unusual and when he finally settled in North Yorkshire he managed to land himself the plum job of looking after a zoo.
As a Zoo vet he looks after a wide variety of animals at Flamingo Land Park in North Yorkshire, one of the countries larger zoos, as well as FERA a wildlife research centre for the government.
His unusual job led the television cameras to find him in the 1990’s, and he has featured in a number of television series, including Vets to the rescue, Vets in the country and Zoo Vet.
For the last few years he has been advising Bucktons and Nature’s Feast in the care and correct feeding of pet birds and small furry friends like rabbits and guinea pigs and will be on the Bucktons & Nature’s Feast stand (A301) on Saturday and Sunday to answer any questions you might have about your pet.Go back to previous page
